Pictures of Me...

So, I got all the paper work I could do accomplished for the mission. I now just have to wait for the bishop and stake president from here. One of the things I had to do for the application is find a picture. Believe it or not, that was one of the hardest things to do. I just could not find a picture that was up to date and one that I liked. Sooo, to problem solve, I got Tori to take some pictures of me. She is a really good photographer. I was surprised. :) We went to Freestone Park and for some reason I thought it was bigger than it is. So, we had some fun that one day and I got some good pictures that I liked. Here are some of them. Oh, I needed the picture becuase this picture will be sent with my papers and sent to my mission president.

This is the picture that I sent with the papers.

Meditaion? Maybe?? Hope the train doesn't come.

Yes, I am a tree hugger. :)

One of my favorites.

Some New News!!!

So, as many of you know already, I am going to go on a mission and I can't be anymore excited for it. How did I come up with this decision you may ask? I will tell ya.

It all started before christmas time. Even before seeing the christmas lights at the temple. My friend Jackie was about to start her mission and I was thinking about me going on a mission. I am almost 21 and am to that point of time where I could start my mission papers. So, I got to thinking about a mission but it was not a very deep think. So, I thought about it maybe once or twice and then we did our christmas eve tradition and went to see the temple lights. We went in and saw the Christus (is that how you spell it?) and then we went to see the Luke 2 movie. We left and then right before we left the temple gates, something was said that got my attention. Maybe because it was about me. :) I don't know who brought it up, maybe toby, he said that him and emily had an impression that I should go on a mission. They were just looking at the sister missionaries who were giving there testimony about Luke 2 and they thought that that should be me. Then my dad pipes up and says he thought the same thing and mom said that also.

So, I got to thinking about a mission deeper. I really didn't know where to choose. I have this amazing boyfriend who I have been waiting to marry and now I had this opportunity to think about a mission. What to do what to do. My goodness what a hard decision. So, I emailed my friend Jackie and asked her to tell me how she chose to go on a mission. To my surprise she actually called me and told me. She was in the same boat as I was. She had a boyfriend and trying to decide on a mission. She ended up going on the mission.

Then the bishop called me in to his office two sunday's ago and it was a "brithday interview." :) It was kind of like a birthday interview but different. This time, he talked about a mission. And I told him about how I was thinking about it but it was not very indepth thinking and that I still had to really fast and pray about it. So, he challenged me to go to the temple and pray about it. He also challenged me to read me scriptures for 15 min everyday because I am not doing so well with that.

I went to the temple that next thursday and prayed and read the scriptures and read my patriarchal blessing. One paragraph stood out to me. It was not about my marriage which I thought surprising. It says this. "You will be a teacher. A wonderful teacher and leader. Many lives will be changed as a result of your testimony and ability to teach with clearness and power." Whoa. That totally stood out to me. I am not a good teacher right now and I don't lead very well, but I am certain that as I serve the Lord with all my might, I will learn to have the blessing and I will be a teacher that knows her stuff. :)

I am so excited. I meet with the bishop soon to start my papers I think. Wish me luck!

I thought I might take a moment and write some of my thoughts down. :) About what has happened and what is going to happen in my life. What HAS happened??? Christmas, Tori's (14th) Birthday, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Bubba's (40th) birthday, and everything in between which is pretty much work. I have enjoyed this winter break though. ALOT. It has been so enjoyable. I have almost finished one of my songs that I have made up. It is a silent night song and it is very very pretty. I can't wait to get it done. Hopefully soon. Um, what IS going to happen? School is going to start soon. The 19th. Yikes. I really hope this semester is going to change. After getting put on probation, I want/need a better semester. Pray for me and I will pray for you. :) Okay. This is kind of a pointless blog but its all good. :)
