No Baby But Still Fun Times

So, the beginning of November I found out I miscarried my baby. It was a pretty crazy emotional November. The first couple days of finding out I miscarried I was okay with it but then the emotions hit pretty hard and I really realized what had happened. Just thinking about not being able to see the baby or spending time with the baby or being able to hold the baby was kind of like torture. The only thing that brings me comfort is thinking that I will be able to hold this baby one day. I wanted to name this baby so I came up with the name of Jace for a boy and Jaycee for a girl. Even though it has been hard I have had comfort from my family and especially from my Heavenly Father. I am grateful that I can actually get pregnant and eventually I will be able to have a baby to hold one day.

.               .                     .                      .                        .                     .

Cody and I celebrated our one year anniversary December 1st. I am grateful to have him in my life. He is such a caring person. He is helps with the household chores sometimes (which I am so grateful for) and helps me when I have headaches and just not feeling well. We have grown closer together with the news of the baby and will continue to grow together with each passing year.

I got him some doritos and made Fudge Bars for him since I have not made that for him before. Fudge bars are so good!

.                     .                         .                     .                     .                    .

We got three pretty new couches from my moms neighbor and we love them. I should have gotten a picture of them because they are beautiful. Its even better when you score couches for free! :) We had this couch before and really we didn't have any room for it in our apartment so we sold it. It finally got sold yesterday. Its been nice to have more room in the apartment now and room to play the piano is a bonus. haha.

.                     .                         .                          .                     .                        .

I did this thing for a member of my family with the Book of Mormon. I have been busy highlighting all the points in the chapter. The chapter heading has some bullet points and I went through the chapter and highlighted the bullet points. Does that make sense? It was so fun to do. I learned a lot just by doing that. I love the Book of Mormon and know it to be the word of God.

.                     .                       .                    .                     .                    .

Christmas time came along all of a sudden. Cody and I went to something called the Creche. I guess its another name for nativity scene? There were just a whole bunch of nativity scenes from around the world. These two were my favorites.

.                      .                     .                     .                           .                     .

I attempted to do a ginger bread house. I started it and then realized I had no idea what I was doing! Don't laugh at my master piece. I kind of gave up and just did one side of the roof with candy. Next time (if there is a next time) I will look up directions on how to make a ginger bread house.

.                   .                           .                      .                     .                  .

We went to my inlaws for christmas. They have a family tradition of eating cheese rolls and having a picnic in the basement by the fire. Its a fun tradition but there is almost no room anymore. If everyone were there it would have been pretty crowded.

.                     .                      .                        .                      .                      .

Cody got me two things that I really wanted. I wanted a spice rack and containers to hold my flour, sugar, and brown sugar. I have debated on getting them or wanting them because they take up room on the counter but I am glad I have them. I think they are cute and fun. :)

.                        .                       .                     .                    .                      .

For Cody I did a twelve days of christmas thing for him. I had planned to do a candlelight dinner and activities after the dinner. I was proud of my idea. It looks like he got a lot of christmas presents.

Day One: Candlesticks

Day 2: Frosting and candies for the gingerbread house (above pictures as well).

Day 3: A great game called sequence

Day 4: playing cards...we needed more games to play for boring nights at home.

Day 5: It was supposed be a story but I ran out of time to get the story. My bad. Just think of a christmas story in your head. :)

Day 6: Socks. Just because he likes his socks.

Day 7: Ranch dips so I could make Cafe Rio dressing.

Day 8: A shirt. I liked this shirt a lot. I thought it would be nice for the dinner we were going to have.

Day 9: Crackers for the Gingerbread house.

Day 10: Orange Cream because it is good.

Day 11: I made Chocolate Covered Oreo Cheesecake Balls. Sound good? They were. We ate them before we could get a picture of them!

Day 12: The "big" present. I got him an electric toothbrush. His dentist said he should get one to protect his gums more so I did the thoughtful deed of getting him one. Seems kind of weird and lame but he likes it.

.                         .                       .                            .                     .                    .

This is the dinner set up. Although we ate the dinner in our pajamas. haha. just imagine the other plate there too.

.                        .                        .                             .                     .                        .

I finished up the schooling portion of school a couple days before christmas. I treated myself to relaxing and doing nothing but working on a puzzle. I just wish my mom were here to do it with me. I love puzzles. They are so fun to me. Others in my family do not think so. I am addicted though.

I just have a week of school left and then I just need to do my internship. I am so nervous to actually do what I have been learning to do. I should be done with that in about a month and a half. Depends on how much i work. Then the big test will come up...national test. I am not nervous yet about it but I know I will be when it comes closer to the time I need to take it.

That's my life so far!

Baby Time!

There the baby is! If you look real close you can see a line stretching from point to point. That is the baby. 1.26 cm long. I was talking to Tessa about the picture and she had said that the baby looks like something familiar but she could not put her finger on it. I said it looks like one of those chicken nuggets you can buy at the store that are shaped like dinosaurs. haha. So this is my little dinosaur baby.

I have been excited and nervous for the baby to make his/her appearance in my body. When I took the pregnancy test at home I could not believe I was pregnant. I was totally not planning on getting pregnant. It was a complete surprise. What was funny was that the week before I took the test, I had made a detailed list of what mine and Cody's life would be like in the next year. I would finish up school, start working as a pharmacy tech and then we would try for baby. But that has all changed. Now we are pregnant and are making things work out for the future. No more him and me.

I took the second pregnancy test and then started looking for doctors. It took me a while to actually go to a doctor. The only reason I finally went to the doctor was because a surprise happened. I was sitting in class one day and felt a gush of something for below. I walked to the bathroom and had the impression that I was bleeding...and I was. I didn't freak out right away. I went back to class, packed up my stuff and called my mom. Once my mom answered the tears were flowing. I was freaking out that I had miscarried. I was getting more and more used to being pregnant.

I called a doctor and they would not take me. My aunt told me of a place and I went there. They were so helpful. I hadn't bled a lot so they explained that it was probably the egg implanting into my uterus. That causes some bleeding. Once they told me that I was comforted because I remember learning that in my anatomy class I think it was. They scheduled an ultrasound the next day though.

The ultrasound was awesome. I got to see my baby. No miscarriage here. I got to hear the heart beat too which was so great to hear. I am addicted to wanting to hear the heart beat everyday. They found out some interesting things though. For some reason I had two sacs forming but only one baby was in a sac. Nothing in the other sac. They also found out that I have a partial bi-cornuate uterus. Basically meaning it is heart shaped. You can look it up if you want to. They wanted to do another ultrasound to make sure everything was still normal a week later.

So I went to the appointment and got to hear the heart beat again and got to see my little dinosaur. They found that the second sac (the one with nothing in it) was disappearing...getting smaller. I came to decision that I was forming a twin but the twin didn't make it. It was kind of sad but I have a baby still. :)

I had another appointment yesterday and everything is going good. I am super excited for the next ultra sound so I can see what I am having.

In the excitement of it all I got carried away and decided to do a craft for the babies room. Cody was gone one Saturday hunting and I had all day off that day. I didn't want to be bored so Tessa and I came up with this idea to decorate the wall the crib will go against. First I cut out several long pieces of yarn.

Then I rolled them up into a ball to avoid getting the yarn in knots.

Then you wrap the yarn around paper plates. First you have to cut the centers out of the paper plates then you wrap it around and around and around. It was quite the process. I watched 5 movies until it was all done. I was super tired of doing it by the end of the day but look at how cute it turned out!

The picture below is something my parents in law found. They were driving around their neighbor hood and they found this white dresser that had a sign that said, "Free."  They knew the people who were 'selling' it and they talked to them. They took it and gave it to us. It is perfect. I love getting free stuff that looks new still. Usually I wouldn't just pick something up off the street but since they knew this family I thought it was okay. :)

Something else I have done was making these new cookies Tori told Tessa about and then she told me about. They were super good and dairy free. Unless you think eggs are dairy. I had to beat egg whites into merange (sp) and that takes forever! I don't like doing it. But it was worth it in the end. The cookies were so super good.

The only thing Cody and I did for Halloween was decorate our pumpkins. I love doing that. Getting your hands messy in the pumpkin guts is the best. haha. I usually do something more detailed with the cut out papers you can buy. This year mine...didn't turn out. It was to many little cuts that didn't turn out and just was a disaster.

It is supposed to be a hand coming out of the ground and a ghost in front of the moon. You can tell pretty well what it is but it just was not the best this year.

I liked Cody's. The one eyed pumpkin. It funny to look at it now because it is looking like an old grandpa with no teeth and a patched eye.
I was going to talk about my class for Pharmacy Tech but it is probably not interesting. Basically I feel like I am in high school. We I am now the oldest person in the class and the rest are all in high school. But besides being in class with high schoolers, that's not why it feels like high school. We have had a couple teachers come teach us because my first teacher had to leave all of a sudden. So they scrambled to get a new teacher. We got one for three weeks. By the end of the third week, she decided that we were way to noisy and bad so she put us in assigned seats. How lame was that! So now I have an assigned seat that I don't like being in. I liked my other seat with lots of room to move. Anyway. It is drama and totally high school all over again. Luckily it ends in December. I am almost done! :)

Fresh New Starts

Look at my beautiful niece! My sister had her first child and the first baby on my side of the family. I have nieces and a nephew on my husbands side but this is much different. I am so glad to have a niece. She is beautiful. My sister let me be there for the birth and it was so spiritual feeling. Seeing her for the first time was so special and seeing Tessa and Jon was just...words beyond I can say. I wanted to cry. I was about to have tears roll down my face. haha. If I am crying and its not my child I am definitely going to be crying with my children. They named her Jocelyn Johanna Brimhall. Johanna is after my great-grandma. I remember my great-grandma and its special to have that name in the family still.  These are a few pictures that I took. Tori was doing a photo shoot of Jocelyn for the longest time and I got into the action sometimes.

The first time I got to hold Jocelyn. She was just minutes old. I have always wanted to hold a brand brand new baby. They are so soft its crazy. The first time there Jon stayed but the next night he decided to go to his brothers house and sleep. I chose to stay with Tessa and Jocelyn. It was so fun to stay and just get to hold Jocelyn pretty much all night. You can't help but wonder where they came from and what they are thinking of. :)
Tessa and I took shifts. I would stay awake with Jocelyn and then when she needed to be fed I would wake Tessa. Tessa would feed her and I would sleep. Then Tessa would wake me up and I would take her. We decided to stay up with Jocelyn because she was spitting up amniotic fluid and would choke on it. We wanted to make sure she would not choke on it. Let me tell you. By the time the end of the next day came I was beat. I am going to have a hard time with my kids. I think everyone has to go through a major adjustment. It didn't make me want a child any less though. I can't wait to have one of my own!

I was going crazy being at the hospital that long. I felt way bad for Tessa because she was there the WHOLE time of course. I can't imagine what that felt like. I was itching to get out and I was not there nearly as much. One of the times we got out I saw a McDonalds. I know. Why is it so cool to see a McDonalds? Scroll down and you will see.

A dinosaur! It was standing right next to McDonalds. Still not that cool? I know. It has major memories for me though. Despite it being totally random to have dinosaurs next to McDonalds, when I was younger I had a dream that involved T-rex and McDonalds.  I had a dream that a T-Rex was chasing me. He was wanting to eat me! So I ran into my favorite McDonalds because this place had the ball pool that was so awesome. I jumped into the pool and then the T-Rex saw me. So I climbed up the jungle gym and the T-Rex saw me still and chomped down on the place I was at. I woke up before I knew if I died. I was so super freaked out. So that is why I thought it was weird to have this McDonalds to have a T-Rex next to it.
Talk about quite the dream to have a child huh? As a result of that dream I can't watch any show with dinosaurs with out being scared. It does not really matter how cheesy it is like Land Before Time I still get freaked out. Jurassic Park...don't get me started. haha. My brother got me the whole set of movies for Christmas one time as a joke. It was funny but I don't know if I will ever watch all of them.

Here are a few things I have made for dinner.

I make Green Stuffed Peppers often but wanted to post this picture because I tried to make it look decorative with the corn. haha.

This is Eggplant Parmesan  with Sausage. It was tasty. I thought I would HATE it. I have never tasted eggplant before. It was actually quite good. It was weird because it feels soft on the outside but it is really hard on the inside. I will make it again every now and then. It does not look good but it was. :)

This is Skillet Mexican Zucchini. It was way way super super good. I was nervous to try it because it has Feta Cheese and I didn't know if I would like it but I do! If you want a surprise in every  bite this is the meal. There were so many flavors popping out in my mouth every bite I was saying, "Oh, this is good!"

Cody and I went camping by ourselves. We thought it would be an adventure to do it ourselves. When we got there I took pictures. It was so beautiful so see the pretty yellow and purple flowers everywhere.

These ...flowers? look like they should be in the ocean or something.

Here is Cody in the tent. The first picture is funny to me because he is holding toilet paper. When I was younger and went to Lake Powell for 4-5 days my parents had what was called the bathroom tent where the port a potty was stationed. So it kind of looked like Cody was in the bathroom tent. haha. I took another picture with out the toilet paper in the picture.

If you look really closely you can see a deer. There was a momma deer, baby deer, and a daddy deer. I think just the mom is in this picture.

 There's us. :)

There was such a beautiful sunset that night. Behind us it looked like the woods were on fire. It was such a gorgeous night.

I was so worried that this fire wouldn't start. One of the first things Cody and I did was collect wood and break it in half. After the last piece was broken 10 min later it started to sprinkle and then rained a bit harder. We took refuge in the tent and played skip-bo for a little bit. The rain stopped after about an hour. If got so chilly after that. It was time to start the fire. It seriously took a long time to start it. The wood we broke was now wet from the rain. We tried for 30 min to start the fire. Eventually it took after we gave it one last shot. If it didn't go we probably would have left.

We had fun talking, relaxing, eating hot dogs, and eating for the first time ever roasted star bursts. To be honest, I am not a fan of roasting star bursts. I much rather roast marshmallows. I like the pictures I took of the fire.

After my friends wedding reception was over Cody and I went to the Mount Timpanogos temple and took pictures. The flowers were so beautiful there. They have so many varieties with their flowers.

The next week after the Arizona Trip I stated school. I go to school at MATC in Lehi, UT. I am taking the Pharmacy Tech program there. I absolutely love it! I am the 2nd oldest in the class but that's cool right? haha. I will be done in december with class and get to start my internship. I will hopefully be working as a Pharmacy Tech in march. Its a really short program which I like. I finally have settled on something for school!

I also started work at WinCo in Orem. I like it alot. There was a down in the dump kind of day (that made me cry) one day but mostly there are positive kind of days at that store. It was hard to start school and work at the same time. All of a sudden I was super busy and the house work went down the drain and I don't get to try new dinners as often. Its okay though. I will get back to it when I can get a job as a pharmacy tech in the morning hours. Some others news is that I am happy with the line up for Americas Got Talent for the most part. Don't really like Jimmy Rose but the others I like and Dancing with the Stars is starting up. My husband and I don't have internet or TV so we go to his brothers house sometimes and catch up on shows we like to watch. Since we don't have internet or TV we watch a lot of movies. Sometimes the library has really good ones. Sometimes interesting ones. haha.

So that is my life as of now. School, work, husband, movies, and MUSIC!

I almost forgot. I love to make arrangements of church songs. I have made a Praise to the Man and now have done If You Could Hie To Kolob. I have just completely finished If you could Hie with cello part added to it. It is beautiful. Maybe I can add it to the blog. Let me see...Nope I can't. Maybe I can figure out a way later. :)
