There the baby is! If you look real close you can see a line stretching from point to point. That is the baby. 1.26 cm long. I was talking to Tessa about the picture and she had said that the baby looks like something familiar but she could not put her finger on it. I said it looks like one of those chicken nuggets you can buy at the store that are shaped like dinosaurs. haha. So this is my little dinosaur baby.
I have been excited and nervous for the baby to make his/her appearance in my body. When I took the pregnancy test at home I could not believe I was pregnant. I was totally not planning on getting pregnant. It was a complete surprise. What was funny was that the week before I took the test, I had made a detailed list of what mine and Cody's life would be like in the next year. I would finish up school, start working as a pharmacy tech and then we would try for baby. But that has all changed. Now we are pregnant and are making things work out for the future. No more him and me.
I took the second pregnancy test and then started looking for doctors. It took me a while to actually go to a doctor. The only reason I finally went to the doctor was because a surprise happened. I was sitting in class one day and felt a gush of something for below. I walked to the bathroom and had the impression that I was bleeding...and I was. I didn't freak out right away. I went back to class, packed up my stuff and called my mom. Once my mom answered the tears were flowing. I was freaking out that I had miscarried. I was getting more and more used to being pregnant.
I called a doctor and they would not take me. My aunt told me of a place and I went there. They were so helpful. I hadn't bled a lot so they explained that it was probably the egg implanting into my uterus. That causes some bleeding. Once they told me that I was comforted because I remember learning that in my anatomy class I think it was. They scheduled an ultrasound the next day though.
The ultrasound was awesome. I got to see my baby. No miscarriage here. I got to hear the heart beat too which was so great to hear. I am addicted to wanting to hear the heart beat everyday. They found out some interesting things though. For some reason I had two sacs forming but only one baby was in a sac. Nothing in the other sac. They also found out that I have a partial bi-cornuate uterus. Basically meaning it is heart shaped. You can look it up if you want to. They wanted to do another ultrasound to make sure everything was still normal a week later.
So I went to the appointment and got to hear the heart beat again and got to see my little dinosaur. They found that the second sac (the one with nothing in it) was disappearing...getting smaller. I came to decision that I was forming a twin but the twin didn't make it. It was kind of sad but I have a baby still. :)
I had another appointment yesterday and everything is going good. I am super excited for the next ultra sound so I can see what I am having.
In the excitement of it all I got carried away and decided to do a craft for the babies room. Cody was gone one Saturday hunting and I had all day off that day. I didn't want to be bored so Tessa and I came up with this idea to decorate the wall the crib will go against. First I cut out several long pieces of yarn.
Then I rolled them up into a ball to avoid getting the yarn in knots.
Then you wrap the yarn around paper plates. First you have to cut the centers out of the paper plates then you wrap it around and around and around. It was quite the process. I watched 5 movies until it was all done. I was super tired of doing it by the end of the day but look at how cute it turned out!
The picture below is something my parents in law found. They were driving around their neighbor hood and they found this white dresser that had a sign that said, "Free." They knew the people who were 'selling' it and they talked to them. They took it and gave it to us. It is perfect. I love getting free stuff that looks new still. Usually I wouldn't just pick something up off the street but since they knew this family I thought it was okay. :)
Something else I have done was making these new cookies Tori told Tessa about and then she told me about. They were super good and dairy free. Unless you think eggs are dairy. I had to beat egg whites into merange (sp) and that takes forever! I don't like doing it. But it was worth it in the end. The cookies were so super good.
The only thing Cody and I did for Halloween was decorate our pumpkins. I love doing that. Getting your hands messy in the pumpkin guts is the best. haha. I usually do something more detailed with the cut out papers you can buy. This year mine...didn't turn out. It was to many little cuts that didn't turn out and just was a disaster.
It is supposed to be a hand coming out of the ground and a ghost in front of the moon. You can tell pretty well what it is but it just was not the best this year.
I liked Cody's. The one eyed pumpkin. It funny to look at it now because it is looking like an old grandpa with no teeth and a patched eye.
I was going to talk about my class for Pharmacy Tech but it is probably not interesting. Basically I feel like I am in high school. We I am now the oldest person in the class and the rest are all in high school. But besides being in class with high schoolers, that's not why it feels like high school. We have had a couple teachers come teach us because my first teacher had to leave all of a sudden. So they scrambled to get a new teacher. We got one for three weeks. By the end of the third week, she decided that we were way to noisy and bad so she put us in assigned seats. How lame was that! So now I have an assigned seat that I don't like being in. I liked my other seat with lots of room to move. Anyway. It is drama and totally high school all over again. Luckily it ends in December. I am almost done! :)
