Home Sweet Home

After three days in the hospital we finally made it home. Zaylee had jaundice so we had to stay a little bit longer so she could try getting rid of it. It was fun to bring her into the home for the first time. New adventures awaited us.

Jocelyn was so cute when she saw zaylee for the first time. She was jumping up an down with excitement. She would tickle Zaylee's feet and hug her a ton!

More visits from family. :)

Poor baby in the jaundice suitcase bc it never went away fully. That was hard because all you wanted to do was hold her but she had to be in that suitcase all day for three whole days. Not very fun. I had the hardest time putting the blindfold on her eyes. I just wanted her to look out at the world and I wanted to look at her beautiful eyes. The second it was okay to take her out I took her out!

Warning! Some cute pictures ahead.

She loves getting her head scrubbed.

We have a belly button. Surprisingly it didn't take long for the cord to fall off. I thought it would be on there for a month but it only took a week.

Look how snuggly she looks.

One of the creepist things she does is sleeps with not only one eye open but both eyes. Her eyes also roll to the back of her head so it looks weird.

What a cute face. She could get her mouth so pinched up like that it was like she didn't have lips anymore.

Supergirl to the rescue! Such a good pose for this shirt. Look how tiny her arms are. They are a little more plump now.

Some people I know used a stuffed animal to show how big they are getting and I thought it was a good idea. So I chose this cute little elephant that my Aunt Allison got her.

:)

Best Cousins!

It's baby time!

I got my ice chips and am ready to start the long journey. It was quite the journey too. I went in to the hospital after work one night because I had some bleeding issues. I was kind of freaked out a little but not too bad. When they checked my blood pressure it was pretty high and that was no good. They ended up inducing me which I was happy about because my mom and sister were here already. They were here already because I thought I was going into labor a few days previous but that was false. It was so hard to tell because I did not know what contraction really felt like but now I do. I will know better the next time.

They had to soften my cervix so that took a little while to do. About 11 in the afternoon they started my pitocin to get labor started. I ended up having back labor which was no fun. It felt like my back was going to break! I eventually just got the epidural because I didn't want to feel it any longer. There was a lady in the room next to me doing natural labor and it made me feel good about the epidural. She was yelling and hitting walls. It was kind of scary!

Zaylee Rose Crittenden was born at 6:08 in the morning March 9th, 2015. It was such a cool thing see her finally. It's really unbelievable that humans can make humans. She was a whole 5 lbs 15 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. That's about what I weighed when I was born. She is a beautiful baby.

Family members came to see her at the hospital. I didn't get every picture of the family members that came so there were a few more than there are listed.

Craig came.

My mom...of course. :)

My grandma.

Tessa.

Cody's mom.

Cody helping out with the feeding. Zaylee was not gaining enough weight or calories so we had to bottle feed her. She was needing her sugars to be tested because I was on medicine to keep my sugars down for the Gestational Diabetes. She was not really passing them with just breastfeeding so we did the bottle route. Now we do both and it's kind of nice being able to bottle feed when it's not as convenient to breast feed.

Going Home. Such a cute little premie outfit.

Look how tiny she is in that car seat.
