October 17, 2011

This week was a pretty good week. Not too much has happened. This weekend was good though because I learned alot. Missionary 101. Expect to have ups and downs. I had to learn that again this week. One up is that we found two very good potential investigators. They seemed awesome. We went back and...they were not answering their door even though they were home. :) oh people. Someone this weekend told us, "Don't give up on the human race." That has been in my mind ever since. Don't give up on the human race. There is bound to be more people out there that will hear us right? :) We got a suprise this week. We had just gotten in for a dinner break and I was staring out the window. These kids were across the street and one of the kids had a pot of flowers in their hands. They were attempting to cross the street and I was beginning to wonder if they were for us. I was thinking, "Awww, the next door neighbors were being nice and telling us that we were good people and good neighbors." haha. but then I thought, "that would not happen." But the kids started crossing the street and they walked to our door. Strange. I answered the door and the kid said, "Are these for you?" I looked at the name on the vase and it had sister ford's name on it. They were for her. We took the flowers and shut the door and were very happy. I was happy sister ford got flowers and she was happy because they were from her family. :) We found Santa's REAL hiding spot. He is stationed on Master Street in Salem, Indiana. :) We knocked on that door and he answered and had a bright cheerful voice and plump face. I am going to get my hair cut real short today. I need the haircut real bad. Wish me luck. I hope it turns out well. Here are a few things that I thought was cool during sacrament meeting. "We were not sent to just be born. We were sent to also endure to the end and return to Heavenly Father." There was a story about an old pilot, and a bold pilot. One guy was observing and said to old pilot master, "You always have old pilots, and bold pilots but not old bold pilots. Why is that?" the old pilot said, "the bold pilots will learn in time." "what does that mean?" "Let me tell you of a time when someone was purchasing a ticket to go hunting. They got the ticket and got a bold pilot. The bold pilot was not being careful and was not thinking of the passengers he had on board and crashed into the side of a mountain. All died in the crash. That is why there are no old bold pilots. The bold pilots have learned the hard way and many have not made it through well." I thought that was a cool story. I don't remember it exactly but I liked it alot. "Don't live your life thinking about what you could have become." "Do we gain experience by not trying? No. You have to do something to gain experience." :) that is what I learned. I hope you all are doing well. Have a great week. Sister Amanda Ralph
