September 12, 2011

So, I tried to send an email earlier this morning and when we got here, people obviously do not like each other because they were sitting every other computer. We needed two computers next to each other so we can see each others monitor. (mission rules). So we waited for a half hour and gave up waiting and just came later.
This week was a pretty good week...oh man. I forgot my sticky note with the things that I wanted to tell you all about. Now I am just going to have to remember which is a hard thing because so much goes on. We had a pretty good week. We are just trying to stay busy. We don't get very many new investigators which is hard at some points. But the investigators we have are really progressing and I hope they get baptized pretty soon.
Yesterday we were able to have a good surprise. We went to Regina's. She is an investigator and she has been a long term investigator. They taught her the first lesson in may and finally yesterday we taught her the second lesson. She is very slowly progressing. She lives on a farm and so she is always super busy. Well, her daughter is named Lisa mae and she wanted to go to church so bad and so we inviter her and she said yes and we had a member pick lisa mae up. Lisa Mae loved church. She is a very special girl. We were thinking that we could get Lisa mae to church and that would propel her mother to come to church. Well, it worked. We went over last night and taught lesson two, the plan of salvation. We read the scripture about not procratinating the day of your repentance. The spirit rebuked regina. She said that she felt horrible that she was a very big procrastinator. She asked what she needed to do to get baptized. Good question! We told her. We then had her select a date that she would want to be baptized on. She picked one and I thought she would pick a date in november but no. She picked her date to be Oct. 15th. That is sooooo cool. She knows that the church is true. She is going to be coming to church and laying aside some of the things that she normally does so she can get baptized. :) Lisa Mae will most likely be baptized on that day too.
Maryah. She is really progressing. She is making time for us now and it is wonderful. We went on a piknik with her yesterday. We had fun. We got to really know her really well. She so wants to be loved. She is praying about baptism still and I think she will get her answer pretty soon. She may also get baptized Oct. 15th. That would really really neat. :)
Anyway, time is getting really short. I am glad to be on a mission. I am learning alot while being here. I am learning more and more about how much God loves each and every one of us. It is amazing to know that he has sent us Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. And for Jesus Christ to take upon himself every pain and affliction that we have so that we know at least one person will know how we feel. It is wonderful to know that God sent us a prophet to help us in these times. I am very excited for conference in a couple weeks. I hope you are.
I love you all, Amanda
